D.A.R.Ling

Back in the days of my very first blog, Tried & Truth Beauty, one of my most favorite things was trying different lipstick colors. From the boldest of blue to the palest of purple, you name it, I tried it and made sure I told you the truth about it.

My beauty blogger days have morphed into more lifestyle focused posts but my love for beauty never faded. As a beauty enthusiast and now a “When I have the time” makeup artist, I still keep my ear to the streets so to speak about what’s new and needed in the land of makeup & skincare not to mention that I still get beauty related questions and so… here we are, d.a.r.ling.

Damn,Another Red Lip(ing)!

A staple in my look is a red lip. It doesn’t matter if I rock locs, if I am a baldie babe, a sew in shawty or seeing if blondes have more fun – no matter the look I am seeing how I can finagle a red lip into the mix. Lucky for me there seems to be no shortage of ruby colored creations to partake in and give you the low down on.

The red lip for today is a combo offering featuring Cherry Blossom liquid lipstick by Coloured Raine ($17), Vino lip pencil by MAC Cosmetics ($18) and a little precision work with the help of the 212 Flat Definer brush also by MAC Cosmetics($25). Total Lip Look – $60.

Coloured Raine Cherry Blossom Liquid Lipstick

Liquid lipsticks tend to be drying and Coloured Raine is no exception. Be mindful to gently exfoliate your lips prior to wearing a liquid lip and you can also apply a bit of lip balm or moisturizer to your lips before applying. I promise it will not diminish the staying power or take away from the color intensity. I can literally wear this all day, through eating and drinking and have no issue.

I realize that precise application of red lipstick, not to mention a liquid red lipstick can be a bit of a challenge so be sure to stay tuned to my IG Stories and IGTV where I will answer any questions you may have and actually show you little tricks to be a beauty with brains.

Any red lipstick brands or shades you have had your eye on but have not been brave enough to pull the trigger? Let me know in the comments and I will try before you buy!
