Dupont Circle Farmers Market

One of my all time fav things to do is take a stroll around a farmer’s market.

On any given Saturday or Sunday you can wind up happening upon one in your area and that is part of the appeal.

On this particular weekend I decided that instead of brunch I wanted to visit one of my favorite farmer’s markets and get inspired for a healthy approach to my meals for the coming week.

The escalator at Dupont Circle Metro (the Q Street entrance) always offers a picturesque view.  Even during inclement weather.

 The quote etched into the wall is from a poem by Walt Whitman – “The Dresser”.  It was selected to honor those caregivers from the earliest days of when the HIV crisis hit Washington DC.

Thus in silence in dreams’ projections,
Returning, resuming, I thread my way through the hospitals;
The hurt and wounded I pacify with soothing hand,
I sit by the restless all the dark night — some are so young;
Some suffer so much — I recall the experience sweet and sad . . .
